Internship Program for Students

An opportunity to put your knowledge and skills into practice and at the same time contribute to the improvement of the logistics performance of Panama

Would you like to be part of the internship program that we offer at the Georgia Tech Panama Center?

Since 2018, we have had a program in which Panamanian students from different careers can support the activities and projects carried out at the Center.

Generally, the internships are for senior students (last year of studies) and with the option to perform their graduation work with us.

The internships are for periods of 3 renewable months and part time (daytime or evening hours) or full time, depending on the availability of the student's schedule and the project of the Center in which they are supporting.  We offer flexible hours and a competitive monthly stipend.

How to apply?

When you see a vacancy published on our social networks or below in the open internships section, and if you meet the requested requirements, you just have to:

  • Be enrolled in a local university or in the process of enrollment

  • Request a recommendation note from a professor/coordinator to apply for the open internship

  • Send your updated resume to yuritza.oliver@gatech.pa

After receiving this data, we will contact you for an interview and a technical test.

What do we expect from our interns?

  • Good analytical capacity and skills and interests in R+D+i topics in the Center's research areas.

  • Excellent oral and written expression skills.

  • Proactivity, leadership, ability to work in a team, and goal-oriented.

General functions:

  • Support to the team of researchers in the information analysis of assigned topics (R+D+i in logistics, supply chains and technology)

  • Attend face-to-face or virtual project meetings

Other considerations:

  • All our internships are face-to-face and according to the weekly schedule selected by the student and without conflicting with the class schedule, if any.

  • The student must provide proof of enrollment for the current period

  • The monthly monetary compensation granted to the student is for transportation, food and miscellaneous expenses associated with the internship and should not be considered as a salary nor does it imply a labor relationship between GT Panama and the student intern. If it is verified that the student receives another simultaneous monetary benefit, this compensation may be revoked or reconsidered.

  • In cases where the student extends his relationship beyond the agreed time due to the execution of his graduation work, specific conditions in terms of remuneration different from those of the program may be agreed.
