Logistics and Cargo Transportation Observatory

Overview

The Mesoamerican Observatory of Freight Transportation and Logistics, a project financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) within the framework of the Mesoamerica Project, was developed with the technical support of the Georgia Tech Panama Logistics Innovation and Research Center, which included the countries of Colombia, Belize, Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.This initiative was created with the purpose of supporting the logistics processes of the region, so that together with all the actors, competitiveness is promoted in front of the other regions of the world.

Objectives

  • Create a Transport Information System of Freight and Logistics for the Mesoamerica region, adopting the observatory figure.

  • Improve the quality of information available among users and providers of the public and private sector.

  • Cover the information and analysis gap.

  • To constitute a mechanism of integration among the countries of Mesoamerica, which contributes to the development of public policies.
